Apartment Buildings in Åre, Sweden

About this project

This development of seven apartment buildings in Åre combines prefabricated timber construction with architecture characteristic of Sweden. Each three-storey building is designed to accommodate five apartments with a combined living area of approximately 500 m². Above the masonry ground floor, the external walls use timber frame panels manufactured by ZTC. Black vertical timber cladding, flat roof tiles and oiled timber details give the buildings a unified appearance. ZTC's scope included structural design, manufacturing, delivery and assembly, as well as airtight sealing, façade finishes and roofing. Electrical conduits and internal plasterboard linings were fitted to the panels at the factory, preparing the buildings for subsequent interior works.
